Eradicate the Rot from the Root

Hello,

Made this for the Scribblenauts: Unmasked Contest in dA.

Discovered that there is a new Swamp Thing, and the character's background is pretty neat: A consciousness connected to the plants and the Earth, death, parallel dimensions, living beings are being rotten, infested super heroes, and plenty more neat stuff..  So I decided to do it.

Gonna put a (more) SFW version for my portfolio though.

Stay safe, and enjoy D.

Samurai in Modern Ukiyo-e

Good morning!

Busy period still. Here is one character design for a proposal of an animated short about a samurai wannabe, in modern style Ukiyo-e.

Enjoy dying still!

[ RDP2: CharDes ] Fatleg, Floth, Mouther

New practice. These RDP series will be made by drawing the silhouette first, then figuring out what is inside. No particular concept, just trying the technical sides.

Enjoy dying, always..

[ RDP1: CharDes ] Retrobot, Montree, Fishenguin

Well, wanna improve my average drawing skills, might do it by drawing stuff unrelated to my animation project(stuck in storyboard version 2). Does the phrase make sense? :D

I'm gonna try to draw daily now.

Enjoy dying!

NKT Soldier

Design inspiration came from an Indonesian traditional dish called Nasi Kuning Tumpeng.

I wanna learn some coloring stuff so I took an old char design and modified it to have something to color. I gave value to it, then when I tried to color it with an overlay layer on top, and it didn't really work. I assume I need to do a lo of practices on how to color.

Here are the outline and valued drawing:

Here are the coloring attempt I made to the same design above, simplified, actually this was the original char design:

By the time I colored it I got frustrated 'cause it was really ugly.
So I made some thinking, loosen up a bit, then experiment to end up to these images:

Way better than the first attempt, so I added some fast background..

Just now I realized, how come the background's colors became acceptable straight forward?
Probably because I was loose.

Gonna practice more..

enjOy~
